WORDS Summer of Kindness for 2016 - Stationary Camps
The Baby Institute Summer Extension is a five weeks summer camp for children entering PreK and Kindegarten. The program meets Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m- 5:00 p.m beginning Tuesday, July 5, through Friday August 5, 2016. The program serves approximately 45 students ranging from age 4 years old through 18 years old. The young people are groups of students, the younger group includes 25 PreK and Kindergaten who participate in our day camp that help children get ready to enter school. The second group is made up of Summer Youth employees who assist with engaging the younger students in camp like activities, which includes learning simple school readiness activities such as learning color, alphabets, learning to sit and listening and much more. Berne-Knox-Westerlo Sports Camp
The Berne-Knox-Westerlo Sports camp will run Monday through Friday from July 25 to July 29, 2016 and August 1 to August 5, 2016. This camp will focus on highlighting a new non-contact sport each of the five days, teaching the fundamentals of each. Each day there will be sport-specific drills, run small side games, and finish with a culminating game. The highlighted sports will be Soccer, Softball, Flag Football, Basketball, and Volley Sports. Aside from athletics and other various movement activities, the general focus will be team building activities, sportsmanship, and anti-bullying. Each day will start with a morning session, including a 15-20 minute pep-talk about a new topic--anti-bullying, sportsmanship, hard work and focus. Christ Church of Albany
The Kingdom’s Kids Children’s Ministry Summer Enrichment Program has existed since 2007 at Christ Church of Albany. This program will run from July 5 to July 29, 2016, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 3 PM. The camp of approximately 25 children services youth ages 4-12. The program curriculum emphasizes the exploration of new things, including how WORDS can be a big part of their program, while also focusing on acquiring skills necessary for positive social, biblical, and academic growth. Metropolitan NTM Baptist Church
The “Light on the Hill” summer camp is entering its fourth successful year of mentoring, ministering, and reaching youth of Albany County community. The summer camp will be comprised of two sessions, one from June 29 to July 31, 2016. Victory Church: Enough Safe Summer Program

Boys & Girls Club of Albany at Lawson's Lake

Green Island Summer Recreation Program
The Green Island Summer camp will be open Monday through Friday 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. running from June 27 to August 18, 2016. The camp is held at the Paine Street Park. During summer 2015 the Green Island drop-in camp served lunches to an average of 80-100 campers per day. Riverview Missionary Baptist Church
The camp is open from July 5 to July 20, 2016, running Monday through Friday 10:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. The camp will hold several field trips and incorporate the WORDS message each day during moprning reflection and lunchtime shout outs. Most campers are between the ages of 9 to 12 years old.
