WORDS Summer of Kindness 2016

Thank you for visiting our website to learn about our "WORDS Summer of Kindness!"

During the summer of 2016, the Office of the Albany County District Attorney will be sponsoring eight stationary Summer of Kindness camps throughout Albany County.  In addition to these eight camps, we will also be sponsoring traveling camps that will visit each stationary camp once per week to provide specialized programming that reinforces the WORDS message.  Throughout the course of the summer, the District Attorney’s Office will also be sponsoring community-based events, including Albany Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, and other special events for youth members of our Summer of Kindness camps.  Each of these sponsored camps and events will focus on our WORDS: Hurt or Heal Anti-Bullying Campaign that was launched in October 2014.

The goal of this initiative is to educate youth that their words have power and they can put their positive words into action through engaging in Acts of Kindness.

Each camp will be submitting Acts of Kindness to our website, then DA David Soares will be delivering bikes to the weekly winners at each camp! Click through the circles below to learn more about our sponsored programs!
